I had severe Pre-Eclampsia and HELLP syndrome with our daughter who was born at 27 weeks and passed away 16 days later in 2008. My doctors did not want to risk this happening again with our second child so I was put on in hospital bed rest at ST. Joseph’s Women’s Hospital when I was 28 weeks pregnant with my second child. Andrew was born at 36 weeks at 4lbs 3oz. and 17in long! He is now a healthy and happy little boy
What did HRH’s support mean to your family during your hospital stay?
The support that I received from HRH was phenomenal! The Bed Rest Basket that I received was very useful. It had personal hygiene items in it, a calendar, a pair of socks and a few other things. It made me not so homesick to get this wonderful surprise!
Why do you trot?
We had so much fun at the Tot Trot last year, and it was incredible to see Andrew on HRH’s Wall of Hope. I am so thankful for an organization like this to bring hope to families who are experiencing high risk pregnancies and have babies in the NICU.
